Day 42 Anniversary/Honeymoon 2012

Day 42 Thursday Going down the Blue Ridge Parkway
Posted on September 24, 2012 by JS-Blogging
Today we left Great Falls and headed for The Blue Ridge Parkway. We started at mile marker 0 on the parkway and drove to a lodge at the Peaks of Otter. We met Calvin Rice who has worked there since 1958 and has worked with three different owners. It was a nice lodge but had no TV, internet or phone. We did see some deer and watched the sunset. It was a beautiful drive and we stopped at Crabtree falls just off the parkway by a few miles on a twisty turny slow going road. The drive was wonderful but the photo ops were sparse. Cheryl did rescue a butterfly that landed on our car and when Cheryl got close it jumped into her hand, she fed him gatorade and banana.
