Day 30 Travels in South Dakota
Posted on September 10, 2012 by JS-Blogging
We started our journey at Badlands National Park with interesting colors in the rocks and at one point over 100 bikers past by on a ride through the park. It was a cool place to visit but not to live in.
After the park we passed a place that had a lot of Prairie Dogs and had fun feeding them. The family that owns the store has been there for more than 40 years and it has been a favorite stop of many tour buses. They were cute and well fed.
After the store we saw a place called 1880′s town it looked kinda cool so off we went and ended up spending 6 hours there. It has a collection of props from Dances with Wolves movie and quiet a large collection of rodeo memorabilia. Cheryl and I got some great photos even though it was extremely windy (40 mph +) The people that work in the park said it is always windy. We should rename the state the windy state and sell windmills to generate power. I got my first senior discount today and I didn’t even have to prove my age. My beard is looking grey isn’t it?
Lots of road work so driving to our next location in the dark was not fun.
