Day 18 Kodachrome Basin and Beyond
Posted on August 28, 2012 by JS-Blogging
We got up several times throughout the night to check the stars without success. The Cabin was a great place to stay in the mean time. After a short nights sleep we went out for some Sunrise photos in Kodachrome Basin. Kodachrome Basin is a perfect place for us to stay because it was named that by a National Geographic Research team back in 1940′s. We got a few good shots before the clouds settled in again. On our Journey today we went through the Grand Staircase Escalate National Monument, It is huge and took all day. We went through all kinds of geological changes over 100 miles, It was awesome.
We stopped at a Rock shop near a state park and met Scott, his shop is kinda neat and we had a great time and made a new friend. One of the great things about our trip is all the awesome people we meet along the way Have a Blessed day and we hope you are all doing well

Today we stopped at the Escalante Rock Shop and met Scott Nelson, He has been collecting rocks a long time. We found a few cool pieces and cabochons for Cheryl to create some new art pieces from. Check out his website and see all the cool stuff. While Cheryl was looking at rocks I was taking photos.
Scott is a really cool gentlemen and we had a great conversation about being creative and being an artist.
A wonderful day and a wonderful journey to a new land
