Day 15 Slot Canyons and Horseshoe Bend
Posted on August 26, 2012 by JS-Blogging
We went first to Horseshoe Bend and Cheryl was still tired from the long walk the day before so she did not make the 1/2 mile each way to see the bend. I think I am wearing her out. We went to the check in point for the slot canyon tours and met with everyone. it was a good thing we went with this company instead of one of the others because the others use open seating jeeps and our company used Saburbans, a much better ride for Cheryl.
Our first stop was at Rattle Snake Canyon and we were the only ones in the canyon so it was great to see new angles and not have people in the way. When we went to the second canyon there was already more than a dozen other tour groups in the canyon. Not fun for Cheryl or the other couple that was much older. Our guide said that they have 1500 people a day visit the canyon ( Very Crowded)
I had been to the slot canyons 25 years ago and wanted to visit them again on this trip but it was a huge difference. 25 years ago I went to the canyon at 7 am and left a 3 and I was the only person there all day, It was awesome. Today I could not get a good shot with all the people.
After the Slot Canyons we went across the state to Zion National Park and drove threw the park and took a few photos. For dinner and a hotel we went to St. George, it was a nice town.
Another great day in our journey

Stetson was our guide into two slot canyons, We went to upper Antelope Canyon and Rattle Snake Canyon. We went with two other couples one from Phoenix and the other from Italy whose names were Sara Manrico. We had a great time with them our tour guide was very nice. He helped me get shots and he know where the best angles were and moved people out of the way. Great Job and Great Fun was had by all.
